US National Debt

Folks,

It is reported that the US national debt has exceeded USD 17 trillion.

And Malaysia is currently imposing it's debt-to-GDP ratio to 55%. Anyway.

Read the shocking news by one of America's prominent think-tank, The Heritage Foundation, here:-

Life

Peeps,

Just a hypothetical question -- what exactly do you want in life? Do you know what you want or does it always change?

As for me, I used to know exactly what I want to do with my life, but then again, because of time and exposure, I seem to not be able to know what exactly it is that I want.

But I do know one fact -- that I want to live life to the fullest and be happy and thankful for all the things  that I have.

But I need to first lay down the foundation of what I really want to do with life.

Anyway, I am about to get off at the KL Sentral integrated train station, and head for work.

Have a good day, peep!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Peeps,

I have just watched this cool movie which was directed by my favorite actor, Ben Stiller.

It is such a cool movie!

The quote in the movie is as follow:-

Live life ordinarily

Peeps,

This early week of 2014 has really taught me some good lessons, among some of which are:-

1. Life is a journey. The more ordinary your life is, the more richer you are.
2. Life is full of surprises.
3. You don't know why you are doing it, but you have a strong feeling that is the right thing to do.

Let me explain the first one.

My office has since been relocated from Bangsar to Damansara Heights. For those who do not know, it is still within the city of Kuala Lumpur.

In terms of distance, it is really not that far -- I would say it is about 15 minutes by driving, if the traffic is not so bad. But truth is, traffic within the urban Kuala Lumpur is always bad, especially in the morning where people rush to work.

And because of this, I decided to take a bus; and took them I did on Friday, 3 Jan 2013. And I am still taking it now.

Never have I imagined that I would take a bus to work in the unforgiving city of Kuala Lumpur, but heck, I did. It is an amazing experience and I am still doing so until this day.

And I realized that by taking the bus to the work:-

1. There is less stress in your life, especially in the second third of your morning.
2. You get to learn the roads and places in the busy city of Kuala Lumpur much faster, thanks to the driver for showing you all crooks and nooks of this amazing city.
3. You get to meet many people -- from the Indonesian construction workers to the Bangladeshis working in restaurants. And funny thing is that public transportation such as buses are being frequently utilized by migrant workers i.e. non-Malaysians!
4. You get to observe the quirks and idiosyncrasies of this amazing species called humans -- the way they stand, the way they answer their phone in public places, and they way they adapt in crowded space. Oh, and you get to know the latest hairstyle in town too, never mind the Cleo magazine.

I don't know about you, but at least, I enjoy the above four things in the second third of my morning.

And I divide my mornings to three parts: the first third is between 5:00 am to 7:00 am, the second third is between 7:01 am until 9:00 am and the 'third' third is between 9:01 am until 11:59 am.

Now on to the second one.

Life is always full of surprises.

You never know who you gonna meet, and you never know that there exist a lot of nice people on this planet earth.

The third one is very interesting.

It is about my gut feeling -- the feelings that you have when you don't know the reason why you even feel it.

Sometimes, it is hard to explain why you do certain things in your life; for example, why do Malaysians eat rice three times daily  and so on and so forth.

I am not saying that it cannot be logically explained, but I am saying that explaining it is hard, and in your attempt to do so, you may be misguided by your own explanation.

In fact, i feel that it is ridiculous to try explaining things that have become norm in our life. I think that it is best to leave it unanswered and unexplained so long as it is still within the ambit of human logic.

And the same goes to your feelings.

As much as you would like to explain why you like certain things or certain person, it is as much as you want to leave it unanswered knowing full too well that the unexplained feeling that you experience suits the taste of your heart perfectly.

So there you go folks; those are the three important lessons that I have learnt in this few days of 2014.

Weddings - Siti Nurzubaizura

Peeps,

Congratulations to my cousin, Ms Siti Nurzubaizura for her successful wedding.
She looked gorgeous in her traditional Malay wedding dress, together with her husband.

The wedding as held on Sunday, 29 December 2013 at Kampong Baru, Kuala Lumpur.

There is a Malay saying -- "Selamat pengantin baru, semoga kekal ke anak cucu", which is loosely translated as "best wishes to the newlywed, may you stay together until you have grandchildren (meaning until the end of time)".

And of course, at weddings, I do get those questions -- "when will be your turn"?.

p/s: nice wedding cake!

A Trip to Melaka

Folks,

Here is a photo of me with my juniors in the university.

Seen at the back is my good friend known simply as Anip. At the front is Syuk and his friend.

We went to Melaka to visit my other friend's wedding.

It has been quite sometimes since I travelled with friends, what more convoying with three cars in front.

Happy New Year 2014

Folks,

I have been busy with office relocation etc., and I have no time to update this blog.

I hope that it is not too late wishing everyone a prosperous new year 2014.
